When I first got out of the Army in 1977, I did not know exactly what I wanted to do. May you be at peace now, dear Joe, and may God continually bless Marie Pierre, Emilie and Tim with wonderful memories of times spent together with you. We were so very saddened to learn of Joe's passing. ![]() There were so many laughs and good times preparing for those plays, which Joe directed, and it sure does bring back precious memories! ![]() It was a tremendous undertaking that Joe seemed to accomplish with ease. It was fun to witness the process of Joe deciding which book might work for that venture, then meeting again to see the script he had written from that student's book, and the different parts that were created. He would turn that student's book into a play that would be acted out by the parents each year. ![]() Joe's specialty for the five years our son attended Forest Park was to choose a "Young Author's" book, and he would become a playwright with those few pages. There were parents who spent many hours volunteering at both of these IE schools, and the Baltz's were no exception. Oh, the memories that came flooding back in regard to Joe! We first met Joe when we went to Jewel Frame Shop to have some prints framed that we had purchased at Chicago's Art Institute, Not only did Joe take care of that artwork beautifully, but we then learned that our sons were going to be starting school together at one of the magnet schools on Joliet's east side, Forest Park, and continuing on together at Hufford Junior HIgh in their IE school.
